"Leading truck drivers, as well as the trucking community, to Jesus Christ and helping them grow in their faith."
"Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead. I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call in Christ Jesus." Philippians 3: 13-14
The first thirty-six years of my life I was lost, completely in the ways of the world and enjoyed "doing my own thing." After being shot at, covered up for dead, run over by a truck, as well as contemplating suicide, God, in His amazing Grace opened my spiritual eyes to the saving power of His Son, Jesus Christ. So, at the age of 36 I became, as the Bible says, "a new creature in Christ." I had a great desire to serve Christ in my new faith, but did not knowhow to do that through my church with my vocation of an over-the-road driver taking me out of town so frequently.
About seven years later (1978), as I was driving my usual routes, I came across a Transport for Christ chapel and was led to become involved in their ministry. In 1994 I became a volunteer chaplain. Later in 1999 I became a staff chaplain and was then commissioned in 2001. I have a great burden for the everyday man who is on the road driving his truck. God has used me to minister to those men because of my background and, I believe He will continue to use me to minister to the trucking community. I thank God for His Amazing Grace and for the privilege of serving Him daily through this ministry.
